Sexual Harassment Prevention With Actors Workshop
Please note that workshop bookings are subject to actor availability. We will inform you of any availability challenges within 3 working days.
Sexual harassment can be difficult to identify, easy to overlook, and even harder to challenge. Left unaddressed, it affects individuals, team dynamics, and organisational culture, while also exposing employers to significant legal and reputational risk.
Grounded in the Worker Protection Act 2023 and Employment Rights Act 2025, this interactive virtual workshop creates a safe, engaging space to explore what harassment looks like in practice, how it impacts people, and what action can be taken. Using live actor-led scenarios, participants engage directly with realistic workplace situations, testing responses and exploring outcomes in real time.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
- Understand individual and organisational responsibilities under current legislation
- Recognise both overt and subtle forms of sexual harassment
- Navigate “grey areas” with greater confidence and awareness
- Apply practical bystander intervention strategies
- Reflect on the real human impact of harassment
- Identify actions they can take to support a respectful workplace culture
Workshop Outline
Why It Matters: Participants respond to live statements and workplace scenarios using polls and facilitated discussion. This opens up honest conversation about how common harassment is, why it often goes unreported, and the role individuals and organisations play in addressing it. The session also sets the context for why stronger legal protections now exist.
Recognising Harassment: Through realistic workplace scenarios participants explore a spectrum of behaviours, from clearly inappropriate to more subtle, ambiguous situations. Group discussion focuses on key questions: Where is the line? Does intent matter? How might different people experience this differently? This helps surface assumptions and blind spots.
The Law In Practice: The Worker Protection Act 2023 and Employment Rights Act 2025 are explained in clear, practical terms. Rather than focusing only on legal definitions, the session connects these responsibilities to everyday workplace behaviour and expectations.Clear, practical guidance on legal responsibilities and expectations.
ACTION – Exploring the Fine Lines: Professional actors bring scenarios to life where intent and impact don’t align, performing scenes that include both overt and subtle forms of harassment. Participants engage directly with the actors – analysing situations, questioning behaviour, suggesting responses, and exploring how different approaches influence outcomes.
The Human Impact: Anonymised accounts or live-acted scenes highlight the impact of harassment to individuals and teams. Participants reflect on the stories of the person affected, the bystander, and the wider organisation.
ACTION – Bystander Intervention: Participants are introduced to the 5 Ds of Active Bystander Intervention, with a focus on choosing safe, realistic responses in different situations. Our live actors perform short scenarios that pause at key decision points with participants testing strategies on how to react and respond in a safe environment, The emphasis is on practical action, not perfection.
Action Planning and Reflection: The session closes with guided reflection. Participants identify specific actions they can take, both individually and within their teams, to contribute to a safer and more accountable workplace culture.
